Hello you lovely people.
It’s Aman here, the owner of Pique Candles. I’ve had so much support over the last few months that it only felt right to bring you all on this crazy yet exciting journey with me.
I’m going to write monthly entries to keep you updated on everything Pique. But first, a brief history.
As some of you may know, I started making candles in 2021 when I bought a candle making kit from Amazon to make candles for my family and friends. I always wanted to turn it into a ‘proper’ business but didn’t make any real progress as I was too focused on my marketing career… until last year.
I decided that I had to take it seriously when I turned 30 otherwise I never would. So in November 2025 I launched the Pique brand and website which predominantly focused on selling individual candles.
I had a few sales but nothing to write home about, I put my marketing cap on and started working on a brand awareness strategy (which I should have thought about way before) and decided to start hosting candle making workshops to help get my name out there. That’s when everything changed.

I uploaded a post on my Instagram in January saying sculpture candle making workshops coming soon and I received so much interest! I ended up booking two private workshops for early March from enquiries that came through DMs.
In prep for my private workshops, my family were practising workshop test runs with me nearly every week so I could perfect everything and I even hosted a very last minute Galentines workshop at The Distillery where most of the attendees were my family and friends. I felt so lucky to have a few people there that bought an actual ticket!

Everyone had a great time and I was genuinely gutted when the workshop ended and everyone left. I was still buzzing on the way home, I had so much energy I could have done it all over again right there and then. It lit a fire in my stomach and I knew I wanted to do more.
I was lucky enough to be invited back by The Distillery to join them at their International Women's Day (IWD) event where they were allowing women-owned businesses to use their Gin Vault room for a fraction of the cost which caters to 40 people! I’d only hosted up to eight people by that point so 40 may have been pushing it.
March came around quickly and I had three workshops in one week! The two private workshops which I’m so grateful for, without them I wouldn’t have the eyes on Pique that I have now.

I had 12 people attend the IWD workshop which was mind blowing! I had a few local influencers/content creators attend and post about it which brought even more interest.

By the end of that week, I was well and truly shattered but ready to start organising the next set of workshops!
